    CHANGE OF DATE

    Saturday, April 27, 2024

    ODs: Dave & Lori Dolan

It's early, but I want to get this event on your calendars now-- so mark your personal calendars for Saturday, April 27. Spring will have sprung and azaleas and dogwoods will be everywhere as we make our way to Capt. Billy's Crab House in Popes Creek Road, Newburg, MD.

DETAILS:  Same as last April.  We’ll meet at 1:15 pm behind the old Burger King (it’s closed down  now) at 9178 Chamberlayne Road (Route 301) & Atlee Station Road.  We’ll take roll, sell some 50/50 tickets, have a brief drivers’ meeting and depart at 1:30 Since this is a rain or shine event, if the weather is bad or you’re bringing guests, feel free to drive your OTC (Other Than Corvette). OTCs are fine…they just have to be at the back of our caravan!!  Don’t forget your nametags and, if you’ve got a Club Radio, bring it.

This is a really easy caravan.  Whether you’re looking out your side windows at the gorgeous spring scenery or looking at the row of Vettes in front of and behind you—your view will be fabulous!  We won't have a formal caravan for the way home, so you can head home anytime you want.  Lots of us stop at Hornes in Port Royal on the way home, so save some room for ice cream!

If you have questions, contact us (Lori - 804-418-0777, Dave – 804-640-9338 or Email: LoreleiDolan@gmail.com).

Hope you'll be joining us again this year!

    Cruise to Blue Mountain Brewery

9519 Critzer Shop Road, Afton VA,

    July 6, 2023

This CCR Cruiser Event is for the “adventurous CCR members”. Cruise early morning (restroom & coffee) (8:30 am meet) July 6, 2024. Depart at 9:30 am. Leave from the WAWA, Route 288 and Broad Street, 12564 West Broad Street, Henrico, VA, 23233, to the Blue Mountain Brewery, 9519 Critzer Shop Road, Afton VA, arrive no later 10:30 am.

Cruise I64 to exit 107, Crozet at then a short distance on Rt 250. About 1hr 45min travel depending on the traffic.  The left turn into the Brewery comes up very quick and there is a lot traffic on road going to Charlottesville.

Last year CCR Cruisers really enjoyed this event. Food was great, service was great, and the view was spectacular in the fall with colorful foliage. It was worth the early morning start time for this event. Last year we set inside as in the past. CCR will try to get inside seating again for the club.

There are no reservations accepted, but an exception has been made by the manager regarding CCR. So please register online with the club website in order for an accurate count of members attending so CCR can provide the count to the Manager several days before July 1, 2024.

CRR has been in contact with manager to arrange the date and it is set.. This way the staff that will be responsible to seat us will know in advance, so there will be no surprise when we do arrive. The restaurant opens at 11:00 am and you stay as long as you like.  I read somewhere this venue is one of the best in Virginia and most prosperous restaurant.

    Cruise To Charley’s Waterside Restaurant

    Farmville, Virginia

    Date: September 7, 11:30 AM

    OD's -

This cruise is the 3nd time this event has been on the event schedule. Last year we had a great turn out with many of CCR members in attendance asking for this event to be on the Event Schedule in 2024.  So, arrangements have been made with Charley’s, for a return event and placed on their schedule for the Cruiser’s to arrive at 1:00 PM, June 10.

The club will have one of their private dining rooms this year with plenty of room and seating.  The restaurant will have certain staff to service the hungry group for drinks and food. With this large of a group, we will have a limited menu as last year and some exceptions for specific request if needed. The limited menu will be put on the Events website once it becomes available prior to the Event.

    Details:

The CCR Cruiser to meet and need to be assembled behind the WAWA located at Spring Run Road and Hull Street, (12001 Southshore Pointe Road, Midlothian VA. 23112), in the strip mall parking area behind the WAWA lot no later than 11:30 am.  Drivers meeting at 11:45 am, Departure at 12:00 pm, with arrival in Farmville by 1:00 pm.

The cruise to Farmville will be  Rt 360, using the 307 short cut and Rt 360 to the first exit to Farmville. Once in Farmville we will take a right turn on North Main Street. The Green Front Stores are on the left along with Charley’s, (Charley's address is 201 "B" Mill Street) far left at the end of the street. Any further you will be in the Appomattox River in need of AAA.  There is no parking on Mill Street except for people loading their cars with purchases from Green Front.

Public Parking is what’s available but at a premium, however finding a space to park is difficult.  Best way is to park is to use the overflow parking area behind the main Green Front buildings. Just a short distance further on main street, just before the bridge make a left turn into the overflow parking area. There are stairs located between  the two main buildings that lead up to Mill Street. The restaurant is at the left, end of Mill Street. The restaurant will be expecting our arrival.

    CRR Cruise Event

    Tim’s Crabhouse & Restaurant, Lake Anna, October 19, 2024

Tim’s Crablouse, 3nd Annual Cruise Event on October 19 @ 10:00 am is now on the schedule. CCR members are welcome, just sign up on the club website prior to evening of October16, when registration closes. After October 16 and you decide you want to attend send me an email and I will do the rest. Tim’s needs an accurate count as to size of our group attending as they are quite busy on the weekends. As for the early departure time is in order for Tim's to corridor off part of the parking for CCR cruiser's  and protect our special Corvettes.

As to the time to meet and leave are set forth below for late morning cruise for lunch.  Everybody that attended last year had a great time at Tim's and we are certainly welcome back this year.  This is a very easy cruise and great sightseeing on the way to Tim's.

Details:  CCR members and friends may want to meet earlier. However the cruise will leave no later than 10:00 am, Saturday, October19, 2024, from the Food Lion parking lot (11272 Patterson Avenue, Richmond, VA, just behind McDonald’s, 11280 Patterson Avenue, Richmond, VA. The shopping center entrance is just west of Lauderdale Drive at a stop light. Since this is a mid-morning event, most coffee drinkers may want to arrive early and visit McDonalds before leaving for Tim’s at 10:am

We will take a quick roll check and have a brief drivers’ meeting at 9:45 am and depart at 10:00 am. The drive to Tim’s will take about 1½ hours, depending on other traffic. and it may be difficult to keep OTC’s out since most of the roads we will travel will be two lane roads.

The planned route will be Patterson, Route 6 West, to Route 522 North, (at a traffic light), to Mineral VA. Tim’s is located north of Mineral, and we should arrive at 11:30 +/_ am. Tim’s address is 200G Boardwalk Way, Mineral VA, 23117, right on route 522 North (right turn in). We will have several turns and traffic lights in Mineral to contend with. Regardless, it should be an enjoyable cruise, weather good, tops down and a lot of fall color.   jer
